We are seeking an experienced HR professional as Head of People and Culture to foster a high-performance culture.

PURPOSE Head of People and Culture

We are looking for a seasoned HR leader to take on the role of Head of People and Culture. You will collaborate closely with the leadership team to develop and implement HR strategies that align with our business goals, enhance employee engagement, and create a high-performance work environment. Your role will be critical in shaping the company culture, optimizing talent management, and driving initiatives that support our overall success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Head of People and Culture

  1. Leadership Support: Assist line managers in delivering effective HR services, driving a high-performance culture.
  2. HR Strategy & Operations: Implement HR strategies that align with business goals, overseeing recruitment, retention, and HR process improvements.
  3. Client-Centric Approach: Build strong relationships with internal clients, ensuring HR services meet evolving needs and support strategic objectives.
  4. Employee Relations & Engagement: Promote a positive, inclusive work environment and provide guidance on employee relations issues. Implement initiatives that enhance job satisfaction and reduce turnover.
  5. Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure HR practices comply with employment laws, managing employee relations cases and staying informed on legal developments.
  6. Performance & Development: Oversee performance appraisals and support the development of training, succession planning, and talent management initiatives.
  7. Payroll & Benefits: Collaborate with the Payroll to ensure accurate payroll processing and effective administration of employee benefits. Conduct salary analyses and compensation benchmarking to maintain competitive and equitable pay structures.
  8. Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal and external stakeholders to align HR policies with the company’s mission.
  9. Reporting & Analytics: Use HR data to inform decisions and report on key metrics to senior management.
  10. Immigration Compliance: Manage employee immigration processes, ensuring regulatory compliance and support for international talent.

KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE:

Education and Qualifications: Head of People and Culture

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Management or related field and HR certification (e.g., CIPD, SHRM) a plus.

Experience:

  • 5+ years in a senior HR role.
  • Strong knowledge of Cameroon’s employment law; experience in other African countries is advantageous.
  • Proven experience in driving Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives.

Skills:

  • Proficient in HR software, Microsoft Office, and virtual meeting platforms.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with performance management tools and best practices.
  • Ability to manage change programmes and guide teams through complex HR issues.
  • IT/AI Savvy
