PURPOSE SENIOR BUSINESS & PARTNERSHIP MANAGER
The Senior Business & Partnership Manager will drives sales and builds strategic partnerships, delivering tailored solutions to diverse global organizations aimed at improving farmers’ livelihoods and profitability. With expertise in agricultural digitalization, business intelligence, and the global commodity supply chain, this role is key to expanding the company’s impact through successful collaborations and exceeding business targets. It requires a proactive, collaborative approach and strong communication skills to align with the company’s mission
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & REVENUE GENERATION
- Provide general support to our client’s business development processes by participating in concept notes and proposals and business development marketing materials
- Stay abreast with key market trends and intelligence with the ability to seek new business opportunities and formulate sales strategies to capitalize on growing the business
- Establish and develop relationships with key contacts in potential organizations to foster partnerships and business development opportunities.
- Understand the needs of your customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these needs
- Consultative sales and account management of new and existing partner base
PROSPECTING SENIOR BUSINESS & PARTNERSHIP MANAGER
- Generate sales leads and manage a pipeline of potential partners, including global traders, food brands, cooperatives, NGOs, donors, government institutions, and social enterprises. Build strategic relationships based on their needs and alignment with our client’s mission and goals.
- Assess and convert leads with sales potentials from the Marketing and Communications team
- Expand our client’s market share in Africa’s commodities sector through digitalization, networking, and prospecting. The focus should be primarily on Tanzania and surrounding countries in areas like commodity trading, agricultural security, financial inclusion, and sustainability
- Prepare proposals and conduct professional presentations to prospective and existing customers and partners
RESEARCH/FORECAST
- Research and identify new business opportunities – including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services.
- Carry out sales forecasts and analysis and present your findings to senior management/the board of directors
- Research and attend relevant seminars, conferences and events to expand the network and boost sales potential
NEGOTIATION SENIOR BUSINESS & PARTNERSHIP MANAGER
- Leverage knowledge, experience and network in local and global market space to negotiate prices and secure deals from local and international businesses. SENIOR BUSINESS & PARTNERSHIP MANAGER
- Become fully conversant on Corporate and Farmer Services operations, historical and current. Should be able to support, advise and recommend to team and partners the best approach for collaboration to achieve sales targets and business goals
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in an appropriate field of study
- Successful track record in building partnerships, relationship management, and business development in the commodity industry with increasing responsibilities with a minimum of 4 years of experience.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the business community, industry players in agriculture, customers, and colleagues
- Demonstrated success in working with low-income populations to access financing and resources, including securing partnerships with financial institutions to provide loans and other financial products to smallholder farmers.
- Extensive experience working with NGOs, global food companies, social enterprises, development partners in agriculture, and key players in the AgriTech industry, fostering collaborations and partnerships to drive impactful initiatives.
- In-depth knowledge and practical experience in M&E practices, particularly in areas like deforestation, child labour and trafficking, access to information and training, and climate change, ensuring impactful project outcomes and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated experience and success in developing, implementing, and scaling Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions, including managing customer relationships, driving user adoption, and achieving revenue growth.
- Excellent organization, problem-solving and time-management skills.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills in English and French; especially budget and proposal writing
- The ideal candidate must have resided and worked in Ivory Coast for a minimum of 3 years
- Demonstrated ability to learn new processes and adapt quickly to changing requirements and roles
- Proven experience in client prospecting, negotiation, closing, client relationships and meeting sales goals
- Advanced use of productivity tools and Sales CRM such as Pipedrive.
