PURPOSE Business Development Manager
The primary purpose of the Business Development Manager role is to drive the company’s commercial growth in Cameroon by establishing market presence, developing strategic partnerships, expanding the client base within industrial sectors, and converting opportunities into long-term revenue streams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Market Entry and Brand Development
Lead the company’s market penetration strategy within Cameroon’s industrial sector
Represent the company as the primary commercial ambassador in the market
Increase awareness of the company’s products, services, and technical capabilities
Conduct market intelligence on competitors, industry trends, pricing structures, and customer requirements
Business Development and Revenue Growth
Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities across industrial sectors
Develop and manage a strong B2B sales pipeline
Achieve agreed commercial and revenue targets
Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities within existing accounts
Vendor Registration and Industrial Approvals
Drive company registrations and supplier approvals across factories and industrial plants
Manage vendor documentation and compliance requirements for supplier onboarding
Establish the company as an approved supplier within key industrial organizations
Maintain a structured database of registered facilities and approval timelines
Client and Stakeholder Relationship Management
Build strong relationships with decision-makers within manufacturing and industrial companies
Ensure client satisfaction through coordination with internal teams
Maintain long-term partnerships that drive recurring business opportunities
Strategic Partnerships and Networking
Identify and develop partnerships with distributors, agents, and industry stakeholders
Represent the company at industry events, business forums, and networking engagements
Reporting and Market Intelligence
Provide regular reports on sales performance, market insights, and business opportunities

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, preferably in industrial or engineering sectors
Minimum 3 years of experience in B2B sales
Experience working with engineering products, industrial equipment, or technical solutions is an advantage
Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills
Proven ability to develop and execute successful business development strategies
Demonstrated ability to drive the sales process from opportunity identification to deal closure
Strategic thinking with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under pressure
Self-motivated, results-oriented, and customer-focused
Language Requirements Business Development Manager
Fluency in English and French is required
Travel Requirements Business Development Manager
Extensive travel across Cameroon, particularly within industrial zones and manufacturing plants
