PURPOSE BUTCHERS
The Butcher will be responsible for preparing, cutting, and packaging various types of meat products according to customer specifications and health and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing excellent service, strong knife skills, and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and organization in the meat department. BUTCHERS
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare, cut, and trim meat products such as beef, pork, chicken, and lamb according to customer requests and specifications.
- Ensure that all meat products are handled, stored, and displayed in compliance with food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the meat department, including proper storage of equipment and regular cleaning of work areas.
- Assist customers in selecting and purchasing meat products, providing recommendations and answering questions as needed.
- Receive and inspect incoming meat shipments, checking for quality and freshness, and properly storing products in refrigerated storage areas.
- Operate and maintain meat processing equipment such as grinders, slicers, and saws, following safety protocols and manufacturer instructions.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate with management to ensure adequate stock of meat products is available for sale.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient operation of the meat department and overall supermarket. BUTCHERS
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidates must have the following qualifications: BUTCHERS
- Previous experience working as a Butcher or similar role in a supermarket or meat processing facility.
- Strong knowledge of different cuts of meat and meat processing techniques.
- Excellent knife skills and the ability to accurately cut and trim meat products to customer specifications.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines, with a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the workplace.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds). BUTCHERS
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for operating meat processing equipment and handling sharp knives safely.
