PURPOSE OF STATEMENT
Intel HR Consulting is looking for a Head of Business Development for one of its clients specialized in freight forwarding. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record in senior Biz Development /other customer-facing roles, with experience in servicing key customers. He/ She will manage, control, and develop the overall Sales strategy/activities in the country in accordance with the group business strategy to increase market share and optimize business assets and human resources.
RESPONSABILITIES
- Drives execution of sales strategy/programs on country level and performs required analyses.
- Follow up on spot quotes, maintain customer records, create, and pass on sales lead, inform customer about company products.
- Lead, motivate, and supervise the Sales organization to achieve high performance and service quality.
- Emerge customer and market requirements and passes them on in the organization.
- Supports Managing Director and management team as the “key advocate” of customer interests.
- Receive orders from customer, record order in system and get customer confirmation.
- Manage customer communication by coordinating pick-up/delivery with customer.
- Pro-actively inform customers about exceptions and deviations from planned shipment process.
- Handle customer inquiries on transit times, customs regulations, rates, documents and declarations, and any other inquiries from customers pertaining to the transportation of goods by the company.
- Handles escalated Customer Service-related issues.
- Participates in reviews with other Managers and Team Leaders to identify areas of improvement, reviewing KPIs and enhancing overall service quality.
- Run compliance checks, initiate credit check and credit application.
- Manage exceptions (manage delayed pick-up, locate misplaced freight, or obtain correct documents) and communicate with stations and customers.
- Develops sustainable relationship with key corporate customers and attend meetings with customers.
- Create external reports for customers i.e., volumes shipped, on-time performance, financial or management reports.
- Prioritizes and manages the allocation of appropriate resources and retaining.
- Identify training needs and opportunities to develop and retain a highly skilled commercial team.
- Drives performance improvement of team to achieve KPIs
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
- Master’s degree in marketing, business, sales or any related field
- Minimum 05 years of professional experience (with 3 years at a management position) in the field of freight forwarding and logistic.
- Proven track record in people management roles (leadership, motivation, and people skills
- Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of forwarding business, (AFR/OFR) and business systems
- Good communication and presentation skills, ideally selling experience within the freight forwarding & logistics industry.
- Proven track record in senior Biz Dev /other customer-facing roles, with experience in servicing key customers
- Excellent understanding of forwarding customer needs
- Deep process know-how
- Self-directed, high energy, and proactive working style
- High degree of self-confidence, initiative, and commitment
- PC literate, excellent organizational, communication incl. telephone, and writing skills.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills (written/spoken) in French & English.
