We are recruiting on behalf of our client a dynamic and hands-on Hotel Manager to lead the operations of a new 25-room hotel located in Bimbia, Limbe, Cameroon. The Hotel Manager will be responsible for the overall management and day-to-day operations of the hotel, ensuring high standards of guest service, operational efficiency, team performance, and profitability

PURPOSE

The successful candidate will play a key role in establishing effective hotel operating systems and procedures, building a high-performing team, delivering consistent service standards, maximizing occupancy and revenue, and ensuring efficient and professional hotel operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Hotel Operations & Guest Experience
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the hotel.
• Ensure high standards of cleanliness, presentation and customer service.
• Respond professionally and efficiently to guest requests, concerns and complaints.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas.
• Monitor guest feedback and implement service improvements.

2. Staff Management

• Lead, supervise and motivate hotel employees.
• Prepare staff schedules based on occupancy and operational requirements.
• Conduct performance reviews and staff training.
• Promote teamwork and a positive working environment.

3. Reservations & Revenue Management
• Monitor room reservations, arrivals and departures.
• Maximize room occupancy and overall hotel revenue.
• Develop relationships with corporate clients and local organizations to increase bookings.
• Support hotel marketing and social-media activities.

4. Financial Management
• Monitor daily revenue and expenses and ensure accurate financial transactions.
• Maintain strong financial controls and operate within approved budgets.
• Regularly report financial and operational performance to the Hotel Owner

5. Compliance & Administration

• Ensure compliance with applicable Cameroonian requirements relating to employment, health, safety and food hygiene.
• Maintain accurate records relating to employees, guests and suppliers.

6. Housekeeping & Laundry
• Ensure effective room inspections and housekeeping standards.
• Monitor housekeeping supplies and replenishment.

7. Food & Beverage
• Oversee daily food service operations, including quality control and presentation.
• Monitor inventory and purchasing for the restaurant and bar.

8. Stock & Procurement
• Conduct stock checks and maintain appropriate supply levels.
• Establish and manage relationships with suppliers.

9. Maintenance, Utilities & Security
• Monitor routine maintenance of hotel facilities and equipment.
• Ensure faults and repair requirements are promptly identified and addressed

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Hotel Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of progressive experience in hotel/hospitality operations, including experience in a supervisory or management role.
  • Proven experience managing hotel operations, guest services, housekeeping, reservations, procurement, and staff supervision.
  • Demonstrated experience in revenue generation, occupancy management, budgeting, cost control, and financial monitoring.
  • Experience in setting up or managing hotel operating procedures, SOPs, systems, and service standards will be highly advantageous.
  • Previous experience in a startup hotel, boutique hotel, resort, or similar hospitality environment is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of customer service, hotel administration, health & safety, hygiene, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience managing and developing multidisciplinary hotel teams.
  • Strong commercial, leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel/property management systems (PMS).
