We’re looking for a short-term Logistics Consultant based in Dakar, Senegal who will play a critical role in supporting the successful execution of operational and logistical activities.

PURPOSE LOGISTICS CONSULTANT

The Logistics Consultant will play a critical role in supporting the successful execution of operational and logistical activities for upcoming meetings and the establishment of office space for the local team in Senegal. The consultant will leverage their professional expertise and contextual knowledge to ensure seamless, efficient, and cost-effective implementation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the planning and preparations for upcoming visits, as required, including the arrangement of transport logistics.
  • Lead logistics preparations for upcoming meetings, including event space identification as needed, in-person arrangements, and technology to include remote participants.
  • Interact professionally with wide range of local stakeholders, from senior government officials to grassroots organizations, in preparation for upcoming meetings.
  • Provide guidance on local norms and protocols for meetings.
  • Manage schedule, ensuring adequate time between meetings and maintaining courteous and professional communications.
  • Attend in-country or remote meetings with team and document meetings with detailed notes.
  • Provide guidance on local context and innovative approaches that could enhance the company’s impact.
  • Provide editing and formatting support on a range of materials and coordinate the development and distribution of those materials.
  • Liaise between stakeholders and the client to coordinate meetings and deliverables as requested by company staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS LOGISTICS CONSULTANT

  • Minimum 5 years progressive experience, including office management and administrative experience
  • Experience working with international development partners; USAID experience desirable
  • Experience working with donors, various stakeholders and ministry officials preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to support staff at all levels and to interact professionally with client(s), stakeholders and other guests
  • Attention to detail and ability to produce quality deliverables while working on competing priorities
  • Ability to work with technical staff and client(s)
  • Ability to follow direction and policy and then work independently to complete tasks
  • Self-starter willing to jump in to ensure smooth performance in country operations
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite; experience with other software desirable
  • Fluent communication skills in French required; strong communication skills in English preferred.
