PURPOSE PROCUREMENT TRANSACTIONAL BUYER
We are looking for a PROCUREMENT TRANSACTIONAL BUYER who will be responsible for planning, structuring and organizing all procurement and supply chain activities for all our client’s entities using an efficient and consistent application of a procurement management policy to guarantee the quality of goods/services provided and at the optimal cost. He/She will research all potential alternative suppliers where necessary, liaise with operations when tendering new suppliers, report on Procurement deliverables to and seek guidance/approvals from the Finance Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES PROCUREMENT TRANSACTIONAL BUYER
- Actively manage and drive effective local procurement and continuous optimization to support the strategy of increased contract buying.
- Manage day-to-day buying and related planning, manage and execute buying process for off-contract transactions.
- Input accurate data into the ERP system to enable reliable reporting and analysis. PROCUREMENT TRANSACTIONAL BUYER
- Communicate with line managers and suppliers to ensure Procurement expectations are being met.
- Support the implementation of strategies to achieve local targets and facilitate meeting targets.
- Ensure the buying process is procedurally compliant and audit documentation and HSE purposes are available.
- Promote and adhere to the procedures, policies and guidelines, including, without limitation, those relating to HSE, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC)
- Monitors compliance with company procedures, and assists in tax compliance requirements.
- Work with both internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidates must: PROCUREMENT TRANSACTIONAL BUYER
- Have extensive experience in procurement, supply chain, shipping and logistics
- Have at least 5 years of supply management, operational management experience, or experience in the primary service delivery of the organization.
- Have a proven track record of delivering large savings.
- Have exceptional interpersonal relations on all levels, be precise, attentive to detail, and proficient in MS Office applications, especially EXCEL
- Knowing about Oracle systems and computer applications, is an advantage.
- CIPS or any certification in the Supply chain will be a plus
- Be a team player at executive levels to collaborate with business units and functional partners like IT, Finance, HR, etc.
- Have In-depth knowledge of sourcing and procurement principles and best practices
- Foster innovation, collaborate effectively, embrace change and deliver superior results
- Foster a sense of urgency to exceed targets, work to exceed customers’ expectations and strive for operational excellence.
- Have experience with modern sourcing and procurement systems, familiarity with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, as well as an understanding of standard contractual terms and conditions to mitigate legal risk
